Progress through Partnerships

We believe Parma residents deserve a city dog park and continue to do what we can to help make a Parma Dog Park a reality! Our ongoing partnership with the city to keep #MovingParmaForward will ensure that our community always remains one we can be proud of for generations to come.

Below are just a few of the ways we hope to propel the city forward and establish a Parma Dog Park.

Funding

Because we know that the City has limited funds to spend on a dog park, one of PADPA's highest priorities is to secure the necessary funding to help establish and maintain a city dog park. Grants, seasonal fundraising events, and online fundraising are some of the many ways we will seek funds.

And because we are serious about assessing the costs and generating the necessary funding for a city dog park, we have developed a business plan that takes all costs into account and maps out a realistic path to acquire the money we need to make this a success. 

Safety Education

We believe safety is paramount to the operation of a successful dog park. To help promote responsible use of a Parma Dog Park, our organization will work to ensure that all who use the dog park are aware of the rules that govern the use of the park and will provide periodic training in collaboration with those experts most familiar with dog safety.

 

Training will supplement the notices and signs that would already be placed throughout the dog park. We also expect to make available online dog park safety training for those who hope to visit the dog park. This will ensure a safe and enjoyable atmosphere within the confines of the dog park.

Collaboration

Our organization would not be where it is today without the incredible outpouring of support we've received from volunteers who have helped to move us forward. To do our part in moving Parma forward, we will continue to work with our volunteers to ensure dog park success.

 

We also look forward to working with the city and seeking the ongoing expert advice and input from various departments such as the Parks & Recreation Department and Service Departments to make the Parma Dog Park the best dog park it can be. 

Respectful dialogue and collaboration are important keys to success. We are always willing to find a solution that makes everyone happy and benefits all residents.
